Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) College Opportunities On-line (Cool)

Comparative data is available on institutional characteristics, crime statistics (on-campus, residence halls, non-campus buildings, public property, and local statistics), enrollment, degrees, financial aid for full-time first time in college students, and tuition and fees.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Executive Peer Tool
Intended for senior administrators, this is a simplified version of the IPEDS-PAS. This tool presents data from the IPEDS Data Feedback Report.
Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Peer Analysis Tool

IPEDS peer analysis tool enables a user to compare an institution with a group of peer institutions of the user's choice. Includes admissions statistics; degrees and completions; faculty data and faculty salaries; enrollment (full-time and part-time); staff (full-time and part-time); financial aid information; graduation rates; IPSFA Survey; Library staff, expenditures, collection, and electronic services information; tuition and fees. IPEDS-Peer Analysis Tool requires ID/password which corresponds to the IPEDS ID. The ID can be found on IPEDS Cool on each university first page.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Peer Analysis System (PAS)
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Peer Analysis System is a tool designed to enable a user to compare a postsecondary institution of the user’s choice - termed the LinchPin in this system - to a group of peer institutions which are also selected by the user. Such comparisons are done by generating reports using selected variables from the IPEDS variables of interest.

National Academies National Research Council

National Research Council Research Doctorate Programs

The National Research Council project seeks to assess U.S. research doctorate programs. One of the design goals of this study is to help universities improve the quality of these programs through benchmarking. Data collection began in July 2006 and there are more than 200 participating universities including UCF. The data include descriptive statistics of selected characteristics of research-doctorate programs (such as the number of faculty and students) and the views of faculty "peers" relative to program quality.

SREB
The SREB-State Data Exchange is a cooperative effort of SREB and the statewide higher education governing and coordinating boards in the South. Founded in 1969-1970, it is one of the nation's oldest, most comprehensive sources of comparative data on public higher education. The Data Exchange annually collects, compiles and publishes the most up-to-date statistics on postsecondary education in the 16-state SREB region, including information by institutional category.

US News-Graduate Ranking

The graduate program rankings consists of the most recent rankings in all areas surveyed by U.S. News & World Report. Business, law, medicine, engineering, and education programs are surveyed every year.

The online version of America's Best Colleges allows you to sort schools based on criteria most important to you and find out how schools compare in campus life categories. Includes admissions, alumni, class size, faculty, freshman profile, freshman retention rates, graduation and ratings.

VSE-Dataminer

Form comparison groups of institutions that are similar to yours in type, size, location, or other important characteristics. Focus in on giving by alumni, corporations, foundations, trustees, and other sources. Subscription required but a trial is available.

WebCASPAR (NSF)
Integrated Science and Engineering resource data system allows the user to compare any institution to a peer group of your choice. Data available relates to undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and financial statistics. Includes degree completions, enrollment, faculty, faculty compensation, financial statistics, post doctorates, ratings, and tuition and fees. Includes detailed information about academic research and development for most universities.
